The APC Endowment Fund
A Christian Opportunity for Long Term Stewardship

At Ankeny Presbyterian Church we are called to be faithful stewards. Our congregation pledges its time, talents, and monies each year to the operating budget of our church. Through this commitment APC is able to develop and maintain the church’s mission, programs, staff and facilities. In addition to this regular giving Ankeny Presbyterian Church operates an ongoing Endowment Program administered by the Session and the APC Memorial and Endowment Committee.

An endowment fund is money that is set aside and permanently invested. Earnings from the fund are used to fund special needs within the church that are outside the scope of our annual budget.  Our APC Endowment grows via gifts from the congregation and others. These gifts may include:

Cash

Stocks and other Securities

Real Estate

Life Insurance Proceeds

Life Income Trusts

Bequests and Memorials

...and other gifts

Sharing our faith and material blessings with others is a cornerstone principle of our Christian heritage. Sharing lets us provide spiritual and material support to those most in need. By sharing, we help ensure that future generations will have an equal or greater opportunity than what we enjoy today.

APC ENDOWMENT PARTICIPATION -

….. a gift that keeps on giving!!

Gifts to the APC Endowment Fund are joyfully accepted, large and small. These gifts may be made anonymously as a memorial to a loved one or as a gift in appreciation for what God has given us. We are called to be faithful managers of our time, abilities and monies. During our lifetime many of us will find ourselves in a position to make special gifts in God’s name. When an inheritance is received, an appreciated property is sold, or a will is made, an opportunity occurs to set aside a larger than usual portion of one’s wealth to strengthen the church of Jesus Christ.

Memorial contributions to the APC Endowment Fund help ensure that a loved one is not forgotten because each year’s earnings from that contribution are funneled back to the church and its mission. The Memorial and Endowment Committee maintains a record of each memorial gift.

APC ENDOWMENT FUNDOPPORTUNITIES -

God’s Work at APC

Gifts to the APC Endowment Program may be directed to specific areas of interest within the mission of the church or left undesignated. Undesignated gifts are especially valued as they make it possible to match need and resources with a greater flexibility.

Following are the five fund areas:

Christian Education and Youth

Mission Outreach

Property and Grounds

Worship and Music

General

Income from the Endowment Funds shall be used yearly to support special projects and needs that fall outside normal funding by our church budget.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

Stewardship beyond your lifetime can be as easy as the inclusion of the church in your will or a monetary gift from an unforeseen financial windfall. Feel free to contact a member of the APC Memorial and Endowment Committee if you have questions. The committee can provide, on a confidential basis, guidance and more information.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA) FOUNDATION

APC endowment funds are managed and invested by the Foundation who provides professional investment management and administrative services. Hundreds of Presbyterian congregations pool their endowment resources to generate competitive returns. Earnings from these funds are channeled back to congregations supporting important programs and services.

For more information on APC’s Endowment Fund or how you can make a contribution, you or your attorney can contact one of the members of the APC Memorial and Endowment Committee.  Call the church office for a list of committee members.
