Senior High

Our Mission Statement

Our Senior High Youth meet on Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. We gather together to share in Christian fellowship, Bible study and service projects. Our purpose is to grow in appreciation for each other and to grow in our relationship with God. Service projects are an important part of this growth. We try to offer several projects each year and each summer we do a weeklong Mission Trip.  Our youth have been to New York City, Texas, Kentucky, & Chicago. Additional opportunities for youth are our Presbytery-wide Retreats offered two times a year, an annual ski trip to Minnesota, lock-ins, leading worship twice a year, and many other things.

SENIOR HIGH SKI TRIP 2008

So….after polling you all for ski trip dates that worked, January 25 & 26, 2008 won!!  So…..that’s the weekend that Mary Kleis and Doug Kohlsdorf will take you!
Here’s the scoop:
      *We will leave Friday around 5:00 p.m. from the Church
      *Pack VERY lightly as we can only take one vehicle (unless other chaperones appear!)
      *We have limited space, so get your forms in, no later than Sunday, January 6, 2008
     *We will spend the night at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, MN (no showers, so make sure you take one on Friday!)
     *Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress if you think you need it, toothbrush, toothpaste, WARM clothes, coat, hat, gloves, etc.
     *You will ski from 9am-6pm’ish on Saturday and then head back to Ankeny – arriving between 10:30 and 11pm
The cost:
       IF we have 15, the cost will be $53 for lift ticket and ski rental.  If we have 14 or less, the cost will be $69 for lift and rental.  You will also need $$ for 3 meals (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch & dinner)
       AND, we’ll collect $8/person for gas costs.  Always remember that there is scholarship $ available for these types of events.  Don’t hesitate to ask!
